Second in the last Tour de France, Jean-Christophe Péraud want to return on the podium on the Champs Elysees in July 2015. But he knows it will not be easy. The route of the 2015 edition has just been unveiled at the Palais des Congres in Paris and the Ag2r La Mondiale leader told in the mixed zone about the route.
"The first week will be special. We will be careful with the wind, but also the cobbled stage like this year. You may easily lose the Tour in the first days. The next two weeks are more tailored for climbers with lots of mountain stages, both in the Pyrenees than the Alps."
"Second place this year will be difficult to maintain. With Nibali, the defending champion, Contador, Froome, Quintana, achieve this result will be complicated. What I did this year, it is already very good. Personally, the individual time trial will miss me. I could not defend myself on this kind of event and I will have to make the difference in the mountain only."
"The stage to Alpe d'Huez makes me reminisce the Tour of France 2013 with Christophe (Riblon, winner in 2013). But you know, it's a stage that most runners dream."
To finish, the French rider concluded : "But when you look at the course, we note that the Tour will consecrate a complete rider as in each edition."
