Greg Van Avermaet will not be at the start of the Tour of Lombardy. The BMC rider had initially planned to start the autumn classic but on his Facebook page he has announced that he will skip the event. Van Avermaet suffers from jet lag after the Worlds in Richmond.
Last season he was also absent in northern Italy. His best performance in Lombardy is from 2011 when he finished twelfth.
However, his season is not over. Next Sunday he will be at the start of Paris-Tours.
