Gert Joeaar fully lived up to expectations when he took a very comfortable victory in today's Estonian time trial championships. The Cofidis rider was the only professional on the start list and was more than two minutes faster than all his rivals to claim his maiden title.

Being the only professional rider to start the race, Gert Joeaar went into today's Estonian time trial championships as the obvious favourite. His role was made even more obvious by the fact that he had taken a fantastic victory in the Three Days of West-Flanders earlier this your to prove his skills in the individual discipline.

No one was able to deny the Cofidis rider a favourite victory as he proved to be in a class of his own on the 38.4km course in Palamuse. Alo Jakin (BigMat) was his nearest challenger at 2.01 while Oskar Nisu completed the podium 41 seconds further adrift.

Joeaar will again be one of the favourites in the road race where he teams up with defending champion Rein Taaramae to form a strong Cofidis duo.
