The French veteran will join the Movistar Team for a one-year contract in 2014.
John Gadret will join Movistar Team next season. The veteran, who will start his 11th season next year, will reinforce the team’s potential in the mountains. The cyclocross specialist has won several national cyclocross championships and finished top 10 in several World Championships. Gadret finishes an 8 year stay with the French team AG2R La Mondiale, where he won 5 victories.
His biggest success in his carrier so far is the 3rd place overall in the 2011 Giro d’Italia, where he also won the 11th stage to Castelfidardo. He finished 11th in the same race the year after. This season has brought two 3rd places overall in Route du Sud and Tour de l’Ain, two top 10 placements in GP al Pais Vasco and at last he finished 22nd in the Tour.
Gadret's marks the fifth confirmed signing by Movistar Team, after Alex Marque, Jasha Sütterlin, Gorka Izagirre and Adriano Malori.
