Christopher Juul Jensen (Tinkoff-Saxo) confirmed his massive improvement in the time trials when he took his maiden Danish time trial championships. Gauging his effort perfectly, he beat defending champion Rasmus Quaade (Cult) by 34 seconds while former junior world champion Mads Würtz (ColoQuick) completed the podium.
The 2014 season was a breakthrough year for Christopher Juul Jensen who suddenly went from being an anonymous domestique to playing a role in the big races. One of his remarkable progresses came in the time trials where he delivered several solid performances.
This year he has continud his progress and recently played a big role in Alberto Contasdor's Giro d'Italia victory. Last week he got close to his maiden pro win in two separate stages of the Route du Sud.
His good condition made him one to watch for today's Danish TT championships where he aimed at improving last year's second place. Having been beaten by Rasmus Quaade 12 months ago, he got his revenge as he turned out to be the strongest on the 39km course in Rønde.
Juul Jensen was 34 seconds faster than Quaade while former junior world champion Mads Würtz confirmed his potential by taking third. Jakob Fuglsang (Astana) could only manage fourth.
Juul Jensen has a chance to make it two in a row at Sunday's road race championships where he is part of the Tinkoff-Saxo team that are the major favourites.
