Katusha have announced their roster for their first ever participation in the Tour de Langkawi which starts tomorrow and runs for 10 days. With no less than 9 possible sprint stages, the team have sent two of their fast finishers, Alexander Porsev and Marco Haller, to Malaysia while Petr Ignatenko will see what he can do on the queen stage to the Genting Highlands.
For the first time ever, Katusha will field a team at the 10-day Tour de Langkawi in Malaysia and it will be an almost all-Russian roster than lines up when the race kicks off tomorrow. Only Austrian Marco Haller gives the team an international flavour.
The race is famously known for its many bunch sprints, with no less than 9 stages potentially ending as affairs for the sprinters. Hence, the team has decided to field two of its fast finishers, Tour of Luxembourg stage winner Alexander Porsev and Tour of Beijing stage winner Haller.
The GC usually comes down to the big stage to Genting Highlands and here Katusha will focus on youngster Petr Ignatenko. The team is completed by escape artist Pavel Brutt and new signings Pavel Kochetkov and Alexander Rybakov.
