Team Katusha finished 4th in stage 2 of the 2.HC Vuelta a Burgos – a team time trial of 13,14 kilometers in the streets of Burgos.
"Okay we lost some 30 seconds in this stage to Team Astana but we are confident that this will not be decisive for the Overall Classification. We saw that many riders crashed in the TTT. It was a tricky course with those corners, cobblestones and downhills in the end. That's why we decided not to take too many risks. With five teams we finish within a ten second margin. We have everything under control," explained team director Claudio Cozzi.
Astana won the 13,14 km team time trial ahead of Caja Rural and Movistar (both at 28 seconds) and Team Katusha, 32 seconds behind.
"The hardest and decisive stages are still to come. Tomorrow's stage 3 will be a sprinter's stage unless a break makes it till the end," added Claudio Cozzi.
In general classification Luis Leon Sanchez from Astana is the new overall leader. Katusha riders Daniel Moreno, Tiago Machado and Egor Silin are 12th, 13th and 14th, respectively.
Tomorrow it is the 3rd stage of the race – Castrojeriz-Villadiego, 165 km.
