Two teams stand out in the Ghent Six Days: Iljo Keisse and Wim Stroetinga, who won the first Madison on the fifth night and has moved into the overall lead, and De Ketele/Van Hoecke who won the second Madison yesterday and are hot on the heels of the leading duo.

De Buyst/Lampater lost their lead on the penultimate evening but they are very close to gaining a bonus lap and thus reclaim the lead.

They will fancy their chances going into the final and decisive Madison as they attempt to take advantage as the leading teams keep watchful eyes on one another.

Keisse/Stroetinga laid the foundation of their Madison win yesterday by lapping the field twice, despite the crash suffered by Keisse on day 4.

“I’m hurting all over,” Keisse told Het Nieuwsblad, “but the crowd here spurs us on. It’s going to be a tough finale and we’ll have to look out for two teams though I think De Ketele and Van Hoecke are our most dangerous rivals.”
