Ted King’s Cannondale team may not be around next year, but the 31-year-old American is confident that he will still be at WorldTour level in 2015.
“There are talks going on, and I should be fine,” King said. “And I'll keep it perfectly ambiguous like that.”
King has played key roles for Peter Sagan over the past few seasons, but with Sagan headed to Tinkoff-Saxo, many were left wondering where King would ride in 2015.
Slipstream sports, who manage Garmin, revealed they would merge with Cannondale, taking over eight riders who have deals with the Italian team for 2015. King, however, does not have a deal for 2015. However, the merger has a few spots left according to Jonathan Vaughters, and King is many people’s favourite to wind up there.
“I should be absolutely fine, racing at a very high level – one that I'm comfortable with and happy with,” he said.
