Marcel Kittel is determined to again dominate every sprint in 2015. That also includes the Scheldeprijs. “I don’t want to break that tradition,” said the winner of the three latest edition of the sprint race.
The season is still young, but last weekend Marcel Kittel took his first win of the year in Australia.
"I have just finished a dream season. And 2013 was also really good. They were two great years. Hopefully, I will continue the trend in 2015,” the German told Sporza.
On Wednesday April 8, Kittel has the chance to win the Scheldeprijs for the fourth time in a row. “It's a tradition to do that race. The Scheldeprijs is a very important race for me. Also in 2015, I will be at the start in Antwerp. Winning a fourth time would be great."
Will Kittel also do the Giro d’Italia? “I still have to discuss it with the team. In any case, I want to ride the Tour de France again.” In the last two editions, the German has won a total of eight stages.
Next summer, German public broadcaster ARD will be back in the Tour. "It is a great opportunity for us to show ourselves in front of the German audience," said Kittel. "It brings great responsibility. Now all eyes are on us. If we keep riding in this way, we will live up to expectations."
