At the Tour of Qatar, Marcel Kittel has revealed his racing schedule for the spring. "I will do Tirreno-Adriatico, then Gent-Wevelgem, Scheldeprijs and finally Paris-Roubaix.

Milan-Sanremo is not on his schedule. "Mainly because John [Degenkolb] is our leader for that race," he told reporters in Qatar, including radsport-news. "As a team, we have to make decisions. John will be there and needs full support. It wouldn't be good for me to go there as a second sprinter and maybe get dropped early and not be able to help him in the finale."

Even though Degenkolb will also be the Giant-Alpecin captain at Paris-Roubaix, Kittel has been allowed to do the cobbled classic. "I know that I will do Roubaix," he said before underlining that he will mainly be there to get to know the race a bit better. "Already in 2011, I reached the finish - even if I missed the time cut. But I want to know more about the race, the cobbles and the Finale," Kittel said.
