Dylan Teuns of the BMC Racing Team finished eighth Friday at the Aviva Tour of Britain and climbed one spot in the overall standings after teammate Stefan Küng was part of the day's breakaway.

With two days of the race to go, Teuns is fifth overall, 51 seconds back of race leader Edvald Boasson Hagen (MTN-Qhubeka). Boasson Hagen was beaten in the two-up sprint for the stage win by Matteo Trentin (Etixx-Quick Step) as Teuns arrived in a chase group four seconds later.

"It was a really hard stage," Teuns said. "In the start, I was prepared for a situation like this. I was lucky I had strong teammates who kept me in a good position. Plus, Stefan was in the front. Now I am a little bit tired today, so we will see about tomorrow."

Küng was part of a breakaway group of six that never enjoyed a comfortable margin in the 192.7-kilometer race. With the gap coming down in the last 10 kilometers, Trentin shook free from the escape group. Inside of three kilometers to go, Boasson Hagen bridged across to contest the win.

"In the end, Trentin was pretty strong," Küng said. "I also felt quite good, so I made a mistake to let him go. I wanted the other two riders to close the gap, but they said they wouldn't do it. Then it was too late."
