Team NetApp-Endura have announced a very busy August schedule. While GC rider Leopold König will head to the USA for the USA Pro Challenge, Sam Bennett will lead the team in the many sprint races in Europe.
After successfully debuting at the Tour de France, the only German professional cycling team is heading into a strenuous month this August. While several pros are spending the week after the Tour participating in various criterium races, the regular racing season will resume next Wednesday. August has no less than 20 days of racing in store for Team NetApp-Endura’s riders, including two new tours for the team.
Things will kick off on August 6 with the team’s debut in the Tour of Denmark. With its five flat, yet wind-prone stages and a short time trial, the tour is especially well suited for Classics riders.
On August 10 the team’s Irish sprinter, Sam Bennett, will be back in action in the RideLondon after taking several weeks off. The 23-year-old is planning to have more wins in the second half of the season to add to his three wins so far this season.
The team’s sprinters will then continue on to Norway where the four-day Arctic Race of Norway will kick off at the North Cape on August 14.
The team’s climbers will simultaneously be travelling to the United States to ride in the team’s first USA Pro Challenge in Colorado starting on August 18. The team’s two Austrian stagiaires Patrick Konrad and Gregor Mühlberger will be joining Tour de France captain Leo König for the seven-day tour. After successfully competing in the Tour de France, the team hopes to show its Tour form in Colorado to add to its previous success in American races.
The only WorldTour Race in Germany is scheduled for August 24. The classics riders and sprinters will have their chance to shine at the Cyclassics in Hamburg. As the only German team, Team NetApp-Endura will be especially motivated heading into this race.
August’s racing calendar will end with two Belgian classics, Druivenkoers – Overijse and Schaal Sels.
