Raymond Kreder (Garmin) proved that he is a great sprint talent when he won one of Germany's biggest one-day races, the Garmin Velothon Berlin. Having already done the race twice, he benefited from his course knowledge to take his second professional win.

In his first two and a half year as a professional, Raymond Kreder has mostly been working as part of the lead-out train for Tyler Farrar but he has occasionally been given his own chance. Yesterday he got one when he lined up at the Garmin Velothon Berlin as the team leader.

In 2012, Kreder already showed that he has a great potential as a sprinter when he won a stage of the Tour of Norway just a few months after making his professional debut. Yesterday he grabbed his opportunity with both hands when he doubled his tally, beating Sam Bennett and Alexander Porsev in the sprint.

With Garmin being the sponsor of the event, Garmin-Sharp have done the race every year in its short history and Kreder has been part of the roster every time since he joined the team. That previous experience proved to be essential in winning yesterday's fourth edition of the race.

"I knew the Velothon course well because I have already done the race twice," he told Radsport News. "That's why I knew which tactic to use. My teammates supported me well and I was in the front during the last two laps. I am really pleased with this victory.

Last year Kreder was sixth in Berlin while he finished third in his debut in 2012.
