After a great cobbled campaign ended with tenth in Paris-Roubaix, Alexander Kristoff of Katusha has now turned his attention towards the next big goal of his season: the Tour de France.
Stage one is a 14km time trial, but with bonus seconds and expected bunch finishes expected for the next few days, the Norwegian may be able to take the Yellow Jersey.
“For now he hasn’t really ever worked on his time trial bike position. Now his coach Stein Orn is looking into doing some tests at the McLaren wind tunnel (in Woking, Englland),” rider agent Joona Laukka told Cyclingnews on Saturday.
He is using the same schedule he used to build up to last year’s Tour, where he won two stages.
“First he’ll do Frankfurt (Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt), then the races in Norway with the Tour des Fjords, Tour de Suisse and then the Tour de France.”
