From August 1, three young guns will join Team LAMPRE-MERIDA as stagiaires. The blue-fuchsia-green technical staff and management has decided to give the opportunity to Filippo Ganna, Luca Pacioni and Edward Ravasi. These three riders will debut in September but their programs of race is still to be decided.
Filippo Ganna, born in Verbania on 25-7-1996, is the youngest of the three stagiaires and has been already scouted by LAMPRE-MERIDA. During the first year in under 23 category, Ganna won two stages of the Bracciale del Cronomen challenge, namely in Città di Castello and in Fontanafredda. In 2014, he was Italian junior time trial champion.
Luca Pacioni, born in Gatteo Mare on 13-8-1993, is a sprinter. Thanks to his speed, wearing the jersey of the Viris Maserati-Sisal Matchpoint, he obtained 4 victories in 2015: Trofeo Città di Castelfidardo-Gp Cibes, Pistoia-Fiorano Modenese, Milano-Tortona and one stage of the Giro delle Pesche Nettarine. Moreover, he obtained two important results with a 2nd place in the Circuito del Porto and a 7th place in the GP Liberazione.
Edward Ravasi was born in Besnate on 5-6-1994 and he's with Team Colpack. A pure climber, he added another two victories to the two he obtained in 2014, winning the Giro della Provincia di Biella and Memorial Gasparotto, and has achieved many other important results, like 2nd places in two stages of the Giro della Valle d'Aosta, 2nd place in the Freccia dei Vini, 2nd place in the GP Città di Bosco Chiesanuova and 3rd place in the Italian Under 23 championships.
