In the 2016 season, Team LAMPRE-MERIDA will begin an important project with the Under 23 Team Colpack.

The only Italian World Tour team and the leading Italian team in youth cycling will work together in many areas of cycling activity in a project which is already focused on 2017, the year in which the UCI World Tour reform will be implemented with the introduction of the development teams linked to the World Tour formations.

The main target of the cooperation is to create an elite cycling path which give young talent the opportunity to grow and to improve their skills, starting in the Under 23 category, passing through the Continental development team (as by new UCI rules) and reaching the World Tour team.

In 2016, the relationship between the parties will be focused on the support from LAMPRE-MERIDA to Team Colpack Under 23/Elite for what concerns the advice and help on technical matters, trainings, and health topics, respecting the independence of the staff of Team Colpack, in addition to the contribution concerning technical materials such as Merida bikes.
