CULT Energy Pro Cycling had their hopes set on Rasmus Quaade and Gustav Larsson on today’s 26.1 kilometer long time trial in Bayern Rundfahrt’s fourth stage in and around Hassfurt.
Ultimately stage favorite Alex Dowsett (Movistar) conquered the stage win while CULT Energy Pro Cycling’s Gustav Larsson finished 9th. ThE Swedish time trial specialist is also 9th overall. Rasmus Quaade was tired after a couple of long days in the saddle.
“It was a nice course. It suited me very well and I was able to fall into a good rhythm and I felt powerful out there. The result tells me that I’m on the right track getting closer to peak shape and that’s very positive. Now we need to focus on tomorrow’s stage to put that overall 9th in the pocket,” says Larsson.
DS Luke Roberts adds:
"Gustav gave it a good go and I can tell that he's coming into form after a long re-bounce after last year's terrible accident. Tomorrow, we will stay focused to maintain a spot in the overall top-10 and at the same time, we'll set Michael Carbel up for the highly expected bunch sprint concluding the race."
