Three years ago, San Luis Somos Todos got on the podium of the Tour de San Luis, in 2013 Dani Diaz won the race after he had been second in 2012 and last year Sergio Godoy was third. But this ninth edition is a harder challenge than expected for the home team. This Wednesday night came the news that Godoy, the team leader, has suffered a broken right collarbone after a hard crash and will abandon the race after stage 3.
Godoy was eighth overall when he was involved in a crash with 1500m to the finish in Juana Koslay. He hit a tree but got up and finished the stage, albeit with much pain. Afterwards, he was transferred to the Central Hospital of San Luis where the fracture was confirmed. He won't have to undergo surgery but has to immobilize the area to get a good recovery
To make matters worse, Joshua Moyano, the second GC rider for the local team, has received two blows to the intercostal area. A collision with a car during a workout and a crash during the second stage greatly affect his ability to breathe and it is not yet known whether he will continue in the race.
