Today, the second day of the Ster ZLM Toer led from 's-Hertogenbosch to Rosmalen and it covered 180 kilometers. On the pan flat course the wind played a big role in the final and it led to a selection in the peloton.

BORA - ARGON 18 rode attentively. With Zak Dempster and Michael Schwarzmann, the two riders who were best positioned in yesterday's prologue could finish in the lead group. While Andre Greipel (Lotto-Soudal) scored todays’s victory, Zak Dempster sprinted to the 9th place. The 27-years-old Australian therefore improved in the GC to 8th place. Michael Schwarzmann completed the team's success by finishing in 13th place. With his victory Greipel took also the lead in the Dutch short tour.

"The stage was very controlled in the first part. As expected, strong wind, small streets and a lot of changes of direction have affected the last 50km. There were many attacks and teams that used the wind to create echelons. The field split and a group with less than 40 riders could keep in front. We were represented with Zak and Michael in that lead group, the other guys were right behind it in the next chasing group. Zak unfortunately couldn’t launch an optimal sprint as he was blocked. Given the high-class line-up here, we know that it is very difficult to score a podium result in a bunch sprint. So, we can be satisfied with today's result. Zak came in good shape from his training block and yesterday he rode a super prologue. Therefore, we will focus on him over the next few days“, says Andre Schulze, Sport Director of BORA – ARGON 18, after the stage.
