CULT Energy-Stölting has made another signing for the 2016 roster as 28 year-old Frenchman, Romain Lemarchand has agreed on a one -ear commitment. The French rider started his career at Auber 93 in 2008 and has been a pro rider before at AG2R and Cofidis.
Sports director André Steensen says about the signing:
“Romain has been struck by a number of unfortunate incidents this season. In the first part of the 2015, he was held back with allergy problems and later, he experienced a very bad crash in Austria after he had started to sshow progress. I know he has worked hard to get back so he is definitely fit for the next season and I believe that Romain will reach his former level if he avoids illness and injuries. If he can follow up on the aggressive style of riding he has shown when he was at his best, I reckon Romain will be able to achieve personal results. As a teammate, Romain is very well liked and he always sticks to plan so I truly hope that he will have a season where he can display his full potential without crashes and illness."
Romain Lemarchand states:
“Personally, I'm not proud of the season I had because of many problems like my asthma-related allergies and my crash in Tour of Austria. I was not able to ride for two months, which obviously was a long and difficult time for me. But I’m very happy to be on the team in 2016 and I’ve taken on my winter training already. I'm looking forward to being at 100% of my potential in 2016 and hopefully helping the team to win a lot of races."
