Having recently ended his active career, Thomas Löfkvist will continue to play an important role in cycling. The Swede will lead a new ambitious continental team from his home country.
Thomas Löfkvist will be the manager of a new Swedish squad, Team Tre Berg-Bianchi Team, which will ride at the continental level in 2015. After 12 years as a professional, he decided to hang up his bike ar the end of the 2014 season but very quickly he has joined a new project in his country.
"The goal is to become one of the best teams in the Europe mainland in three years," Lövkvist said. "Let's have a sensible timetable and give riders the opportunity to prove themselves. The goal is to build our name during the next year to get a reputation that makes it easier to get invitations."
The roster is made up of a combination of experience with some young Swedish talents: Alexander Wetterhall, Niklas Gustafsson, Sebastian Balck, Alexander Gingsjö, Marcus Fåglum, Alexander Fåglum Karlsson, Gustav Höög, Lucas Eriksson, Kim Magnusson and Ludvig Bengtsson.
After four seasons at FDJ, Lövkvist rode for Columbia-HighRoad for two years before he did three years at Sky and ended his career after two years with IAM.
