The UIV Six Day season kicks off in earnest next Monday in Amsterdam. Defending champion Pim Ligthart leads a field comprising of world champions, Olympic champions, track specialists and super young talents.
Vacansoleil – DCM's Pim Ligthart, who will ride the upcoming road season for Lotto-Belisol and won with Michael Mørkøv last year, will team with German Marcel Kalz this year. This pair must be counted among the favourites for the overall win. The same goes for Dutch pair Mouris/Stroetinga and Belgian former world Madison champions De Ketele and Van Hoeke.
Young and talented Dutch riders Nick Stöpler and Yoeri Havik will fancy their chances of a place on the podium as will the Swiss/Danish constellation Marguet and Hester.
