Klaas Lodewyck will be one of the riders the BMC Racing Team looks to when the Tour de l'Eurométropole (Circuit Franco-Belge) begins Thursday.
BMC Racing Team Assistant Director Max Sciandri said he expects plenty of bunch sprints in the four-day race. "It's going to be echelons and fights for position," he said. "We'll be looking for opportunities and Klaas will be one of our main guys. Marcus Burghardt is also going very well. He showed his strength and form by riding the front at the worlds. So he's a good one for breakaways."
Lodewyck, who has top 10 finishes in stages at the Vuelta a España, the Tour Méditerranéen and the Santos Tour Down Under, will be making his fourth career start in the Belgian race. "It's normally pretty windy," he said. "The last day is a circuit with a little climb and most of the time the race is decided there. This race is close to my home area so I am really motivated."
BMC Racing Team line-up for Tour de l'Eurométropole Roster (Oct. 3-6):
Marcus Burghardt (GER), Silvan Dillier (SUI), Martin Kohler (SUI), Sebastian Lander (DEN), Klaas Lodewyck (BEL), Michael Schär (SUI), Larry Warbasse (USA).
