After a heavy fall on the opening stage of the Vuelta a Burgos, Team Giant-Shimano medical experts can confirm that Sea Keong Loh has broken his sternum.
Loh was involved in a crash during the first stage but he got back on his bike and managed to finish the race.
After examinations with the team’s medical experts a broken sternum was confirmed but with no further underlying damage.
Anko Boelens, one of the team’s medical experts said: “Loh has a broken sternum but fortunately tests show there’s no further damage. He did very well to finish the stage but unfortunately he will not be able to start tomorrow’s stage.”
