Etixx-QuickStep have given an update on their two injured youngsters Lukasz Wisniowski and Carlos Verona.
Carlos Verona was successfully operated on at Herentals Clinic for a scaphoid fracture of the left hand, which was fixed with a screw, as consequence of crash at Pais Vasco. The surgery went well and Carlos left the hospital today with a cast. He will wear the cast for 10 days and then the cast will be replaced with a brace. He will have to respect a recovery period of six-to-eight weeks, and normally can race again between 10 and 12 weeks from today.
Also Lukasz Wisniowski is busy recovering from chronic inflammation of the patella after crashing at Gent-Wevelgem, as he withdrew from the race after he hit the ground with his right knee. He will have to respect a period of two week's rest followed by a couple weeks of rehabilitation.
