As the first classic of the year is rapidly approaching, team Lotto Belisol has named their squad for the Milan-San Remo race on Sunday.

Lars Bak, Andre Greipel, Adam Hansen, Greg Henderson, Vicente Reynes, Jurgen Roelandts, Marcel Sieberg and Frederik Willems will defend the colours of the team in a two-pronged strategy aiming to either set up a sprint finish for Andre Greipel or being involved in a breakaway attempt towards the decisive stages of the race.

The team used the Tirreno-Adriatico to perfect their lead-out train for Greipel as Jürgen Roelandts explained, “We came here to win a stage and to fine-tune the train for Greipel. We didn’t get a stage win, but we don’t have the feeling we’ve failed, we leave Tirreno with a good feeling. In difficult weather conditions we could form a train twice, so that is positive for the future.”

On a more personal note, Roelandts is pleased with his present form and looks to the forthcoming challenges with confidence, “This Tirreno confirmed that I’m in good condition with my eighth place in Sant’Elpidio as a highlight. For me the four most important weeks of the season are coming up with for example Paris-Roubaix, a race I definitely want to win one day. My condition isn’t 100% yet, but that isn’t necessary because the next few weeks some extra percentages will be added. The problem I had with my eyes after the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad is over, so nothing prevents me from being successful in ‘my’ races.”
