Lotto-Belisol is also taking part in the Tour de l’Eurometropole in Belgium and one of the riders the team has brought to the race is Jens Debusschere. Debusschere finished second after Theo Bos of Belkin and ahead of Arnaud Demare of FDJ.fr.
This means that Debusschere is placed third in the overall GC ahead of the last stage of the race tomorrow. According to SD of Lotto Belisol Marc Wauters, who talked to Direct Velo, Debusschere has a good chance in the GC.
"Jens Debusschere still takes a beautiful place of honor today. It still lacks a little with winning a stage. Today, the race was not easy. Most teams have started later because no teams wanted to lose strength in the wind. The break seemed threatening with more than two minutes and twenty kilometers to go, but we really accelerated at that time," Marc Wauters said.
“In the end, Jens Debusschere is not in a bad spot overall. Tomorrow he must be able to pass the bumps to take the final victory in Tournai. Moreover, he knows the course well as Debusschere was second in the same stage last year, beaten by a super John Degenkolb at the time."
