For the second day in a row there is a summit finish. Stage 15 starts in Comillas and finishes after 175.8 kilometres in Sotres, after a climb of 12.7 kilometres. Yesterday a front group of five battled for the stage win, could that be the case today as well?
“Yesterday was indeed a perfect stage to be in the breakaway," Lotto Soudal sports director Frederik Willens said. "We didn’t have enough guts to move along, even though the group wasn’t that big. We have riders in the team who should be able to climb better than the riders who were part of the front group. The guys realized it was a missed opportunity and we told them not to think too much, but that they should dare to attack. If we want to reach our goal – a stage win - we have to keep trying. Today a break could make it again. None of the GC riders will benefit from an early attack, that could mean one of the escapees can win the stage.”
