Team LottoNL-Jumbo goes to one of the last races of the season with a team full of contenders. Sep Vanmarcke, Tom Van Asbroeck, Maarten Wynants and Paul Martens will all try to win in Binche-Chimay-Binche, or memorial Frank Vandenbroucke.
“Binche-Chimay-Binche is a very beautiful race with a specific finish,” sports director, Erik Dekker said about the Walloon race.
“It’s a very interesting race for us. I think that it’s going to be a tough one, so were going to it with a strong team. Sep Vanmarcke, Tom Van Asbroeck, Maarten Wynants and Paul Martens are riders who have the capacities for races like this. We’re going all in to win this race and I think that we may have high expectations.”
“The finish is slightly uphill,” Van Asbroeck explained. “That’s an advantage for me. Especially after finishing the Vuelta, I have something extra compared to the other sprinters. My legs are feeling good, I’m in top form and in the bunch sprints on a flat finish, it’s more about luck as well. In a race like this, it’s totally about strength. I would like this race to finish in a bunch kick, but when an interesting group of riders attacks, I’ll definitely try to go with them.”
