Lars Boom has decided to resume cyclo-cross racing far from the attention in the Basque Country. Yesterday marked the return to competition for the Dutchman at a category 2 race Asteasu.
Still in full preparation for the season on the road, the future LottoNL-Jumbo rider who is a former world cyclo-cross champion, had to realize that there is still some work to be done. Despite a relatively easy course platform and essentially national field, Lars Boom could not do better than ninth. The Astana rider finished quite far from the winner, Spaniard Ismael Esteban, who won the sprint ahead of Stan Godrie, Aitor Hernández and Felipe Orts.
Lars Boom will try to do better in Elorrio on Saturday and in Igorre on Sunday
