Jure Kocjan has tested positive for EPO in a retroactive test from 2012. The Slovenian rider, who won stage 2 of the 2015 Tour of Utah, joined the Lupus Racing Team this winter. Team General Manager Brendan Sullivan has decided to fire him.

"We're very pissed off right now as you might imagine. It has nothing to do with the Lupus Racing Team program. It's as big of news to us as it was to anyone. We're very frustrated, very pissed off. We have a zero tolerance, and it's just sad for people who are trying to change the sport for the better. That's really about as much as I can say about it now", he told Cyclingnews.

Even if the team lost one of his best rider, Sullivan stays confident for the new season. "He was the last signing we made, but we've got a very strong team without him. He was a name, so from that perspective it's probably just – the wound is a little fresh right now – but that's probably something we need to consider over the coming days. There's been nothing discussed right now."
