"I have many doubts about my 2017 season. Everything is in doubt.” Adriano Malori remains very cautious about his chances in the 2017 season. 

Having come back after the terrible accident last January, the Movistar rider knows that he has already made a small miracle by making a comeback. With a strong determination that was recently put on show in a documentary about him, the Italian has exceeded the expectations of the doctors who said that “the maximum would be to brush his teeth" but it remains to be seen what level he will reached.

"I do not know if I will return to my best. I do not know how my body will react in tough races like Tirreno - Adriatico and the Giro d’Italia,” he tells La Gazzetta dello Sport at the award ceremony of Giorna della Scorta. “I know that I will return to racing but I know I cannot be the world reference in time trials." 

"It is already a small miracle and I want to be a witness for something important: my message is that I want to give hope to those with neurological problems . Yes, you can take inspiration from my story and have a thread of hope.”

"When I arrived in the clinic in Pamplona, the doctors said that I could get back on the bike but only to go to buy bread,” he added. “I'll go by bike to get bread, yes, but I will go at fifty kilometres per hour. I looked in the mirror and said to myself:  do you want to throw away twenty years of your life? Then I rolled up my sleeves.”

Malori sends a big thank to his team whose support was crucial during the recovery.

"If I was not riding for Movistar who have given me the best specialists, I would not be here and I would never be back on my bike. I owe them a huge thank.”
