Adriano Malori (Lampre-Merida) hit a double target in the 4th stage of the Bayern Rundfahrt yesterday, a 31.2km time trial in Schierling.
The former Italian time trial champion won the stage, recording a time of 38'19", 18" better than Sutterling (Thüringer Energie Team), and thanks to his performance Malori also became the new leader of the overall classification.
"I've had this time trial in my mind for a long time, so I'm happy to have hit the target,” Malori explained. “During the season I won a time trial and I got to two second places behind Martin, so I was willing to open the second part of the season in a good way: Bayern Rundfahrt's time trial was a good chance, I trained a lot on my Merida TT Warp. I'm very happy I could finalize all this work and, especially, the work by my team that had planned to give me a special support in the previous stages in order to battle for the overall classification leadership."
