For the second evening a crowd of about 12.500 people watched the 6-Day rider’s intensive fight on the Velodrom in Berlin.
And they liked what they saw: The local heroes, the “old” Robert Bartko and youngster Theo Reinhardt, were able to challenge the best teams in the race, and after Friday evening they are third overall, just one lap behind leaders Marvulli – Müller. But watch the points! The game for the bonus-lap’s has begun: Marvulli – Müller has got their first bonus-lap, which brought them on top of the overall, and also Bengsch – Kalz has passed the 100 points (else the leaders from the first day would have been two laps down now…). But Bartko – Reinhardt is with 98 points only two points from their first bonus-lap, which means that we can foresee that they will very early during the Saturday evening program join the Swiss-Austrian duo in the lead.
"Bartko and Reinhardt were the big surprise on Friday evening", said sport director Dieter Stein and added: "Now I look forward to see on Saturday what the teams De Ketele – Roberts and Kluge – Schep might be able to show us."
Also the 6th place overall of the two French boys Kneisky – Brisse is remarkable. A pity that we don’t see the Frenchmen in more 6-Days…
