Having attended the first Cofidis team gathering, Luis Angel Maté knows the first part of his schedule. The Spaniard will be riding lots of WorldTour races in the spring.

Luis Ángel Maté already know the first part of his schedule for the 2015 season. The Cofidis rider will start his racing in February on home soil. His first race will be the Vuelta a Murcia on February 14 and the next day he will do the Clasica Almerica. In the Murcian race, he was fourth in 2014 and fifth in 2013.

"The dates have been changed so I will be a bit in the unknown in Murcia. It is a shame because the finish of that race suits me very well. In the last few years, I have had more racing speed from the [Vuelta a] Andalucia. But I am excited to start in a race where I have had very good results," he exlains. From February 18 to 22, Maté will do the Vuelta a Andalucía which hopes be abke to confirm its promotion to the HC category very soon. The home race is the first one where Mae wants to be really competitive and have a little more pace.

The next part of the schedule is a bit uncertain. The next three races could be Paris-Nice from March 8 to 15, the Volta a Catalunya from March 23 to 29 and finally, the Vuelta al Pais Vasco from April 6 to 11. It is not yet confirmed which races he will do but he is guaranteed to be at the start of at least two of them.

"Last year I did very well in both Paris-Nice and the Volta. I was really at my best. At that time, I have to be strong because they are top-level races and very important for the team."

Finally, the first block will end with two WorldTour classics: Fleche Wallonne on April 22 and Liège-Bastogne-Liège on April 26.

"I am glad that the team again counts on me in the best races on our calendar. Paris-Nice, Catalunya, Basque Country, Fleche, Liege ... I will do many races on the WorldTour. It's another year when I will be in the 'Champions League' of cycling, and I look forward to the day when I will start to race," says Maté who will continue his training that goes smoothly according to plan.
