With the signing of Nacer Bouhanni, the Cofidis team will change shape in 2015. This week the team is gathered for its first team meeting where Spaniard Luis Angel Mate will meet his new teammates.
Although he has already been training for three weeks, the 2015 season officially started yesterday for Luis Ángel Maté. In the afternoon, the Spaniard joined the Cofidis team for the first gatehring in the French city of Lyon. It will give him the opportunity to speak to his new teammates for the coming season.
"This group has been together for a couple of days doing a series of checks and routine test," he said. "This included taking measurements for the sizes of clothing and equipment, medical checks for a new phase of training and a first test to determine the current level of fitness, which still far from the maximum condition during the season. It will be the only time we touch the bike, but it is necessary to meet the new colleagues, of which there are many."
At the end of the gathering, Maté will know more about his schedule for the first part of the season. And he assures that he is "eager" to find out when he will start and which race will be his first target.
"It's going pretty well. I have going for three weeks and the numbers are encouraging. The physical condition of this stage is pretty good and there have been no setbacks, which has been encouraging."
