One of the more experienced have extended his contract with the Italian team Lampre-Merida. Matteo Bono is a symbol for Lampre-Merida, a team that is set on Italian roots and is willing to face the changes of the cycling world in a proactive way.

Among the active riders from Lampre, Bono is second on the list of winning riders. He has been on the team since 2006, starting with being trainee for ½ year and in this period, he has won 8 victories. Damiano Cunego is at the first place in this standing: 9 seasons.

Matteo Bono will also ride for the team next season as he has signed a new contract with the team. The rider from Brescia, who was born in 1983, has during the years improved his skills as domestique. He has also been able to win; three World Tour victories: two successes in 2007 (a stage in Tirreno-Adriatico and a stage in Tour de Romandie) and one in 2011 (a stage in Eneco Tour) and at last he was part of the team who took the win in Tour de Pologne’s team time trial. Bono has taken part in Giro d’Italia 4 times, Tour de France 3 times and Vuelta a Espana 1 time.

Matteo Bono will attend an important role as team-mate for the captains and teacher for the younger guns of the team.
