Tom Meeusen has taken his his fourth win of the season in Ruchpen. The Belgian from neighboring Essen did more than half of the race alone in the lead. His teammate Jim Aernouts and Czech champion Radomir Simunek were far behind in second and third respectively.
One day before the World Cup in Hoogerheide, almost all top riders skipped the race in Rucphen and only Meeusen decided to line up in the smaller race on his training course. The technical course suited him down to the ground and he dominated the whole race and ended up winning with an advantage of more than a minute.
In the background, a group of six formed. Jim Aernouts and Czech champion Radomir Simunek took the minor podium places.
