Tom Meeusen had a nice battle with Kevin Pauwels and Sven Nys in Hasselt. Finally, Telenet-Fidea captain had to acknowledge the superiority of Sven Nys. "I can live with this second place," Meeusen told Het Nieuwsblad.

The trio dominated the race and provided a thrilling battle in Hasselt. About halfway through the race, Meeusen was briefly dropped but he managed to rejoin his two rivals.
