Louis Meintjes won’t start in the 4th stage of the Volta a Catalunya, 1722 km from Bagà to the summit finish in Port Ainé.

The South African rider won’t participate in the race because of the consequences of the crash in which he was involved in during the 3rd stage:

“In the crash, Meintjes suffered contusions to his left knee, the hip and the chest.  The medical checks excluded fractures or major damages, however the contusions prevent Louis from performing sports activity. In the next days we’ll evaluate the time of the recovery," Lampre-Merida said in statement
