Chris Froome would like to strenghten his team of climbers and this Tuesday, Mikel Landa confirmed his signature with the British team. "Sky wants to build a team around me, unlike Astana," Landa explained according to Spanish media.
The Spanish rider did a great season with his third place in the Giro d'Italia. He was perhaps the best climber of the whole field, but the Spaniard had to sacrifice himself for his leader Fabio Aru.
"With Astana, they have no place for me as a leader. This year I have proved I can win a grand tour. Sky believes in me and wants to build the team around me, contrary to Astana."
"Whether I will ride for the win in the Giro next year? That is indeed the intention."
