It was the third sprint in a row in the third stage of Tour de Pologne. At the end of the 166km with some small hills, the bunch sprint was less chaotic than the one of the 2nd stage. In fact no crash occurred, but the result was the same: victory for Pelucchi and two LAMPRE-MERIDA riders close to the podium. Roberto Ferrari crossed the finish line in 4th position and Niccolo Bonifazio was 5th.

An attack by Vakoc 1 km from the finish forced the sprinters' team to change their plan: the Czech rider got a good advantage on the peloton and Ferrari and a few other riders closed the gap just before the sprint was launched by IAM. Bonifazio succeded in recovering positions but could not reach the wheel of Ferrari: Ferrari was 4th and Bonifazio 5th, just behind winner Pelucchi,  Nizzolo (2nd) and Van Asbroeck (3rd).

"The wotk of the team in view of the sprint was very good, Cattaneo and Mori gave their contribution before the trio Ferrari-Bonifazio-Modolo entered in the battle for the sprint,"  sports director Simone Pedrazzini explained. "Ferrari had a good response when Vakoc attacked, he succeded in being in the front position when the Czech rider was caught by the peloton, but Bonifazio could not react in the same way and could not follow his teammate. He tried a late comeback which gave him the 5th place. What a pity we missed this opportunity."
