Even though the rider himself gave strong indications that nothing has been decided yet, Bauke Mollema’s highly anticipated move to Trek Factory Racing is one of the hottest topics in regards to a current situation on a transfer market and according to Italian media the Belkin Procycling leader would replace Andy Schleck in the American outfit.
While Frank Schleck managed to perform in line with realistically laid out expectations in this year’s Tour de France, the same thing couldn’t be said about his younger brother as Andy continued to disappoint and eventually pulled out of the three-week event with another injury.
In such circumstanced, it become clear that Trek Factory Racing would desperately need a mature grand tour contender, and after their first choice Andrew Talansky decided to extend his deal with Garmin-Sharp, American team reportedly approached Mollema.
Commenting on this issue several days ago, the 27-year old Dutchman turned down suggestions that the contract has been already signed, but more detailed information coming from Italian media indicate that it may happen very soon.
According to Tuttobiciweb, Mollema would replace Andy Schleck at Trek, while Frank should continue with the squad thanks to his recently improved performances.
