Last year, on stage 15 of the Vuelta a España, the French rider Lloyd Mondory crashed. The Ag2r la Mondiale athlete was unable to finish the stage and went to hospital. After many medical examinations, he had learned that he suffered of a thigh bone fracture. But this week, he will be back at the Dubaï Tour.
"Because of my fracture of the femoral neck, after my crash in the 2014 Vuelta, I had to agree to almost three months with no cycling! So the resumption of competition is a little fast for me. I will race the Dubaï Tour to do some efforts to increase my condition. If my legs allow me, I will compete in the sprints but without any claim or result expectations. I especially want to be ready for the opening of the Belgian classics in mid-April", he explained according to CyclingQuotes.
This weekend, at the Grand Prix d'Ouverture La Marseillaise, he was back in the peloton. He finished the race at the 112th place.
The Dubaï Tour will begin this Wednesday. The French team will bet in two other French riders (Damien Gaudin and Sébastien Turgot), the Belgians Johan Vansummeren and Jan Bakelants, the Italian Matteo Montaguti, the German Patrick Gretsch and the Lithuanian Gediminas Bagdonas.
