Steve Morabito wore the BMC Racing Team jersey during five seasons. But in 2015, we will see him with the colors of the FDJ.fr. It will be a luxury rider for the leader Thibaut Pinot. Indeed, the Swiss showed all his qualities by finishing at the 4th and 6th place at the Tour of Switzerland (2010 and 2014) but also 2nd at the Tour of Austria in 2012. He answers questions from the French website VeloClub

He tells how he met the staff of the FDJ.fr. "We found ourselves in Pamplona, with Thibaut Pinot in the flight that brought us the Vuelta after our respective retirements. After discussing our personal projects, I realized that the FDJ.fr will be the team where I will give pleasure ! After this flight, I spoke with Marc Madiot and day after day, I had contact with all the players in this team who convinced me in my choice."

"It is the desire to integrate a group which, after 9 years of career, continues to give me the passion and fun to challenge myself every day. This is really what I'm looking for the rest of my career. "

He also tells that he wanted to go elsewhere : "When Cadel told me of his decision to retire early next year I took the time to question myself. I realized that after 5 years with BMC to work for Cadel (Evans), Tejay (Van Garderen), Phillippe (Gilbert), Samuel (Sanchez), Greg (Van Avermaet) and others, I wanted to change of air."

"Joining FDJ is a logical continuation of my career. I got to a stage where I want to share with young people motivated that I put all these years to learn. I will not take a different approach this season. I welcome me to integrate this new group ! I have met all service members running, some sponsors and I know a lot of the riders in the team I côtois regularly races throughout the season. I do not think disoriented."

"I will focus in priority to achieve the goals established by my team and if the opportunity arises I do not generaI me to pick up a few points. It is true that I have ever thought about the status of leader within a team. But even if I like to have from time to time the opportunity to play my card, I blossom so much to help a leader capable of achieving greater things than me !"
