"The crash happened so fast that it didn't hurt. What hurt was chasing back at full speed to join the peloton."
Those were the words of Astana's Arman Kamyshev after the sixth and final stage at the Tour of Denmark. Kamyshev crashed in the final laps of the final stage on Saturday when riders around him slipped in a turn and fell to the asphalt in a fashionable district of Copenhagen.
With no serious injuries and no damage to his bicycle, Kamyshev stood up and quickly began pedaling again in pursuit of the peloton. Kamyshev and his teammates finished behind stage winner Michael Mørkov of Denmark in a mass sprint in front of tens of thousands of fans under sunny skies.
Racing continues in August, with Kamyshev and five teammates next in Norway for the Arctic Tour, while stage one winner Lars Boom heads to the Netherlands with seven teammates for the Eneco Tour.
