After this year's great drama on the Paris-Roubaix cobbles, rumours in the French press now indicate that the riders will again have to tackle pavé in the 2015 edition of the race. The confirmation is expected to come on Wednesday when the entire route will be unveiled in Paris.
After 2004 and 2010 , Cambrai could again host the Tour de France in 2015 La Grande Boucle will start in the Netherlands before passing through Belgium via Antwerp.
"We can't take anything for granted. I just say that last year the Tour visited Arras via Valenciennes. They did not go to Cambrai, so yes, I believe strongly in it," Cambrai mayor François-Xavier Villain tells France 3.
Cambrai could be the finishing city of the fourth stage which would start near Liege on Tuesday July 7. Hotels in Cambrai have been booked for that date. For Cambrai, it would be a major boost as more than 30.000 spectators are expected. It is rumoured that the riders will tackle a number of pavés shortly before Cambrai, making it the second year in a row with a stage on the cobbles.
