Alo Jakin and Steven Tronet made it a memorable day for Auber 93 when they finished first and second in the Boucles de l'Aulne yesterday. We have already posted reactions from the best three riders in the race. Below we have gathered another two from Directvelo.
Florian Senechal (Cofidis), 6th
"It was hard after the start. I had very bad feelings. I wanted to control all day to make sure that the race ended in a sprint. Eventually I found myself in the front group and the legs had gradually returned. I managed to prevent the breakaway from gaining too much time. I reacted in the final when others started to attack me. Approaching the finish, I lacked the information to wait for Nacer (Bouhanni, ed). He was 17 seconds behind but I didn't know so I did the sprint even though I was a little tired. After the finish, I learned that he was not far behind. 6th is a disappointment for the team. We were here to win and all day I saved myself for Nacer. The difference was very small."
Jimmy Engoulvent (Team Europcar), on the attack
"I never really thought we would make it because we never had a big lead and we did not cooperate well. Logically, Florian Senechal was not working and then some riders started to work less. The attacks also started very early so that we hardly had any chance to sta clear.
"The Cofidis team could have cracked sooner but they set the tempo until two laps from the finish. We tried, that's what we wanted to do. It did not work but that is cycling.
"I am happy with my day, I have not raced a lot lately and my condition was pretty good today. I am rather confident after this day."
