Arthur Vichot (FDJ) won the prestigious final stage to Nice while Carlos Betancur (Ag2r) became the first Colombian to win the race overall. We have already posted several reactions and have gathered a few more below.
Fabrizio Guidi (sports director Tinkoff-Saxo whose best rider was Rafal Majka in 45th)
“Rafal was sitting with the best riders in the peloton and sadly someone knocked him over on the final few hundred meters of the stage. He seems ok and I think he’ll be unaffected by the crash to continue pushing his form up. Naturally, I’m a little disappointed that we didn’t reach the top-10 but I saw the guys improving every day and I’m sure they will be ready for the races to come."
Eduardo Sepulveda (Bretagne, 10th s.t., 20th on GC +2.09)
"The only problem of the week is the crash on the first day. In a moment, I lost 1.09. But I'm very happy with my first Paris-Nice. The team worked well and worked very well for me. I'm happy also for other riders, Brice Feillu, Florian Vachon, Armindo Fonseca because each rider present at Paris-Nice showed a higher level than last year. This proves that we all worked well. This is encouraging for the future. Now it is time to rest and the Critérium International will be the next race."
Emmanuel Hubert (sports director Bretagne whose best rider was Eduardo Sepulveda in 10th)
"We saw a very good team in Paris-Nice, the second for us. We have shown what we are capable of. Roger Tréhin and I are pleased with all the riders. And the team is also rewarded with a fifth place in the team standings. This proves that Bretagne is well underway.
"While the Tour de France lasts three weeks and has a slightly higher level, this promises great things. Once again, Brice [Feillu] and Eduardo showed some interesting things in Paris-Nice and they are riders who have more room for improvement. We will improve even more and I think we will not be ashamed."
